Competition policy – annual report 2024

2024/2079(INI)·10th term·ECON·INI
Summary

This is the annual report on competition policy for 2024. Amendments stress a renewed approach to European competitiveness amid a challenging geopolitical context and the need to shield against concentrations of market power while protecting consumers through lower prices, quality, choice and innovation. They debate integrating environmental and climate considerations into competition policy, removing entry barriers, supporting SMEs, and the independence of national competition authorities.

13 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
