## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on biotechnology: prospects and challenges for agriculture in Europe. The amendments revise recitals on genetically modified organisms and their effects on biodiversity, human health and genetic diversity, the precautionary principle, the coexistence of GM, conventional and organic crops, Marker Assisted Selection, patented seeds, GM feedingstuffs and labelling, and the differing implementation of Community legislation across Member States.
