## What the amendments focus on

Proposal concerning measures to detect counterfeit euro notes and coins. The amendments revise provisions obliging credit institutions and other operators sorting and distributing cash, including bureaux de change, to check the authenticity and fitness for circulation of euro notes and coins, permitting the transport of counterfeit notes and coins between competent national authorities and Union bodies for expert analysis and as evidence, and promoting training for citizens and consumers.
