## What the amendments focus on

Proposed regulation on road safety concerning the protection of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users. Amendments revise provisions referencing Directive 2003/102/EC, combining passive and active measures, type-approval requirements and certificates of conformity for M1 and N1 vehicle categories, headform and legform impact tests at 40 km/h with Head Performance Criterion thresholds, and call for action against speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
