## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on the future of the sheep, lamb and goat sector in Europe. Amendments revise recitals on these traditional farming enterprises, their environmental role in less favoured areas, the decline in production and consumption, low producer incomes, the decoupling of the ewe premium under the 2003 CAP reform, the bluetongue epizootic, rising feed and input prices, and differences between Northern and Southern European production systems.
