## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on the competition sector inquiry into retail banking. The amendments address the role of retail banks and access to basic banking services, the diversity of savings, cooperative and other financial institutions, the MasterCard interchange-fee decision, customer mobility and account switching including closing costs, consumer information and financial education, product-tying, anti-money-laundering rules as a barrier, and cross-border banking services.
