## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report by the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality on Turkey's 2007 progress report. The amendments revise paragraphs urging the Turkish Government to achieve de facto gender equality, combat the feminisation of poverty and violence against women including honour killings, increase women's participation in the labour market, education and politics, register children at birth, guarantee gender equality in the new constitution, and strengthen dialogue with women's NGOs.
