## What the amendments focus on

Regulation on novel foods. The amendments address the definition and classification of novel foods, nanomaterials and nanotechnology, the precautionary principle and a high level of human health protection, the minimisation of testing on vertebrate animals and non-animal test methods, cloned animals and their offspring, roles for EFSA, the European Environment Agency and the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies, and the Commission's delegated acts.
