## What the amendments focus on

A consultation on value added tax (VAT) reduced rates, amending Directive 2006/112/EC. Amendments revise Annex III to allow reduced rates on pharmaceutical and absorbent hygiene products, books, newspapers and periodicals, audio books and CDs, energy-saving materials and appliances, agricultural goods, restaurant and catering services (including draught beer and cider), funeral monuments, street cleaning and waste services, and children's clothing and footwear.
