## What the amendments focus on

This dossier concerns the EU Ecolabel. The amendments address extending the scheme while excluding food and drink (except certain certified products) and pharmaceuticals, replacing assessment and verification with a registration system, basing criteria on full life-cycle environmental performance and the precautionary principle, restricting the label for carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic-to-reproduction and other hazardous substances, raising public awareness, and involving NGOs and consumer organisations.
