## What the amendments focus on

This dossier concerns trade in seal products. The amendments establish harmonised rules prohibiting the placing on the market, import, transit and export of seal products to meet animal welfare concerns, while providing derogations for the subsistence hunting of Inuit and other aboriginal communities and small-scale or control hunting, reference an EFSA mandate on killing methods, and define 'seal' as specimens of Pinnipeds.
