## What the amendments focus on

Proposed amendment to the directive on deposit-guarantee schemes regarding the coverage level and the payout delay. Amendments revise provisions referencing Directive 94/19/EC, raising the coverage level towards EUR 100 000 and calling for full harmonisation in a cross-border banking crisis, shortening the payout period to ten working days, addressing pre-funded schemes, the categories of covered depositors, depositor confidence and cooperation between schemes.
