## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns a European action on rare diseases. Amendments call for national plans ensuring equitable access to diagnostics, treatments and orphan drugs, European reference networks and centres of expertise, registries and databases such as Orphanet, research funding and incentives, specialist medical training, genetic counselling and screening, and the involvement and funding of independent patient organisations, with a common definition of rare diseases.
