## What the amendments focus on

This dossier is a recast of rules on the energy performance of buildings. The amendments concern minimum energy performance requirements for new and existing buildings and components, allowing Member States to differentiate between categories of buildings and consult stakeholders, indoor and outdoor climate conditions, periodic review of requirements, owners' choice of cost-optimal solutions, and exemptions for officially protected historic buildings.
