## What the amendments focus on

A proposal on metrology repealing several older directives. Amendments provide that technical progress for the measuring instruments concerned be ensured by incorporating provisions into Directive 2004/22/EC or by voluntary application of international and European standards, that repeal not create new barriers to free movement or administrative burdens, and set dates by which the listed directives are repealed and Member States adopt implementing provisions.
