## What the amendments focus on

This legislative dossier recasts the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Amendments revise recitals and provisions on scientific evaluation of substances, the precautionary principle, exemptions from substitution and prohibition requirements, risks to human health and the environment during recycling, recovery or disposal, nanomaterials, and consistency with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH).
