# Dual-use items and technology: Community regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering and transit

European Parliament procedure 2008/0249(COD) (COD - Ordinary legislative procedure (ex-codecision procedure), 7th term, committee AFET / INTA). Stage: Procedure completed. 31 committee amendments tabled by 5 Members between 2010-06-18 and 2010-10-20.

## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns a Community regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering and transit of dual-use items and technology. The amendments set notification of competent authorities on first use of authorisations, define low-value shipments and exhibitions or fairs, list third countries covered by general export authorisations, exclude uses connected with human rights violations through interception and surveillance technologies, and provide for a Coordinating Group and stakeholder involvement.
