## What the amendments focus on

This dossier is an own-initiative report on trade in services. The amendments revise recitals on the EU's position as the world's largest service exporter, the share of services in GDP and world trade, the GATS and WTO frameworks, liberalisation and its effects on poorer populations, the distinction between sectors, and the treatment of services of general interest such as health, education and water.
