## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on improving the quality of teacher education. The amendments address the quality of teaching as a factor in cohesion, competitiveness and growth, challenges from ICT and increasingly diverse classrooms, continuous professional development and induction for new teachers, the role of the European Social Fund, teacher mobility and exchanges, gender balance, remuneration and 'brain-drain', and media and physical education in teacher training.
