## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report concerns the Small Business Act. Amendments stress the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in growth, employment and innovation, push to make the 'Think Small First' and 'Priority for SMEs' principles compulsory in future legislation, promote entrepreneurship education and the Leonardo da Vinci programme, and call for monitoring and screening systems for implementation by the Commission and Member States.
