# 2007 discharge: European Medicines Agency EMEA

European Parliament procedure 2008/2262(DEC) (DEC - Discharge procedure, 6th term, committee ENVI). Stage: Procedure completed. 2 committee amendments tabled by 1 Members between 2009-01-26 and 2009-01-26.

## What the amendments focus on

A discharge dossier on the 2007 budget of the European Medicines Agency (EMEA). The amendments note that the Agency's budget is financed from the EU Budget and mainly by fees paid by pharmaceutical-industry applicants for marketing authorisations, that the general EC contribution increased, and encourage continued action in the Orphan Medicines field while discouraging the decrease in the Orphan Medicines contribution resulting from a change in orphan-fee reduction policy.
