## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report concerns genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Amendments revise recitals on the EU's precautionary-principle legal framework, the role of Member States and subsidiarity in authorising cultivation, scientific risk assessment of GM crops' long-term effects, the role of the Commission and the European Food Safety Authority, public opinion surveys, GMO-free agriculture, biodiversity and dependence on imported protein feed.
