## What the amendments focus on

Proposal recasting the directive on combating late payment in commercial transactions. Amendments set payment periods, statutory interest, flat-rate and lump-sum compensation, and acceptance or verification procedures for transactions between undertakings and with public authorities and sectoral undertakings, with definitions referencing Directives 2004/17/EC and 2004/18/EC and SMEs.
