# Report on the implementation of EU legislation aiming at the conservation of biodiversity

## What the amendments focus on

The dossier is a report on the implementation of EU legislation aiming at the conservation of biodiversity. The amendments stress that the EU did not meet its 2010 biodiversity target, the unfavourable conservation status of species and habitats under the Habitats Directive, economic and welfare losses estimated by the TEEB study, the precautionary principle, integration into sectoral and agricultural policy, and the 2020 target to halt biodiversity loss.
