## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns penalties for serious infringements against the social rules in road transport. Amendments note wide disparities in fines between Member States, criticise incomplete and outdated Commission reporting, call for minimum and maximum penalties differentiated by seriousness, harmonised and non-discriminatory enforcement and interpretation of driving and rest-time rules, and alignment of the AETR agreement.
