# Report on the competition policy 2008

## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report is the report on competition policy 2008. The amendments address the exceptional measures and State aid taken in response to the financial crisis, Member State guarantees on bank funding and the resulting subsidies and distortions, the phasing out of government support and restructuring of beneficiaries, antitrust, cartel and merger enforcement, tax havens, tax competition, and a more prominent role for Parliament in competition policy.
