## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on a new strategy for Afghanistan. The amendments rework references to UN Security Council resolutions and ISAF, the Kabul and London Conferences, the EU Special Representative, presidential and parliamentary elections and the EU Election Observation Mission, and recitals on the Taliban insurgency, the international coalition, deteriorating security conditions, corruption and the EU's role as a donor.
