## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report concerns mobilising information and communication technologies (ICTs) to facilitate the transition to an energy-efficient, low-carbon economy. The amendments address smart metering and smart grids, ICTs' own electricity consumption and carbon footprint, reducing the need to travel and intelligent transport, energy efficiency of buildings, renewable energy, standardised measurement methodologies, R&D support, broadband access, and the 20% energy savings and renewable targets for 2020.
