## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on achieving territorial, social and economic cohesion in the EU as a condition for global competitiveness. The amendments revise recitals linking competitiveness and cohesion, and address cohesion policy as an instrument for the regions, the EU 2020 and Lisbon strategies, regional disparities, the financial crisis, infrastructure, research, development and innovation, and the role of the public sector and local and regional actors.
