## What the amendments focus on

This 'six-pack' regulation strengthens the surveillance of budgetary positions and the coordination of economic policies. Amendments rework the recitals on the Stability and Growth Pact, the European Semester and the Europe 2020 growth-and-jobs strategy, emphasising sustainable public finances, social rights and employment, and propose mechanisms such as Eurosecurities and a permanent crisis mechanism; some versions reject the Commission proposal outright.
