## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on the regulation of trading in financial instruments, including 'dark pools'. Amendments add recitals reviewing MiFID and the effects of market fragmentation on transparency, liquidity and systemic risk, distinguishing regulated and unregulated dark pools, OTC trading, multilateral trading facilities, systematic internalisers and broker crossing networks, and the use of pre-trade transparency waivers.
