## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on an EU strategy for the Black Sea. The amendments stress the region's strategic importance and the limited results of the Black Sea Synergy, calling for a strategy with an action plan, clear objectives, benchmarks and monitoring; they reference the European Neighbourhood Policy, energy security and diversification of supplies, protracted conflicts and the 2008 Georgia war, cross-border cooperation programmes, and the need for appropriate and identifiable funding.
