# Efficiency and effectiveness of EU funding in the area of decommissioning nuclear power plants in the new Member States

## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report concerns the efficiency and effectiveness of EU funding for decommissioning nuclear power plants in the new Member States. Amendments revise provisions on the closure commitments of Lithuania, Slovakia and Bulgaria under their accession treaties, EU financial assistance and the absence of a financial ceiling, the unfinalised decommissioning plans, costs and timetables, the role of the Commission and the EBRD, and the ongoing Court of Auditors performance audit.
