# Europe, the world's No 1 tourist destination – a new political framework for tourism in Europe

## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report proposes a new political framework for tourism in Europe. Amendments link the tourism industry's competitiveness to technologies, vocational skills, digital services and R&D coordination, call for diversifying tourism services and reducing seasonality, address sustainability, climate change, regional development and health tourism, and reference air traffic, an 'ICT Tourism' platform and proposals for a tourism observatory.
