## What the amendments focus on

The dossier sets common rules on the temporary reintroduction of border control at internal borders in exceptional circumstances. The amendments concern serious threats to public policy or internal security, necessity, proportionality and last-resort use, the area of free movement without internal border controls, Schengen evaluation deficiencies, time limits and prolongations, and the conferral of implementing powers on the Commission or Council.
