## What the amendments focus on

A legislative proposal on market abuse aimed at preserving the integrity of financial markets. The amendments refine definitions of inside information and insider dealing, address market manipulation, accepted market practices, market soundings, buy-back and stabilisation, emission allowances, spot and derivative markets, and competent authorities' powers including access to documents, telephone and data records, freezing of assets and referral for criminal prosecution.
