## What the amendments focus on

The dossier is a recommendation on a new EU-Russia agreement. Amendments revise recitals describing Russia as a strategic or important partner conditional on shared values, the EU-Russia economic interdependence and trade relationship, the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and Partnership for Modernisation, and Russian WTO accession; they address the deteriorating rule of law, human rights and civil liberties, corruption, and Russia's foreign-policy stances including towards Iran and Syria.
