## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on the situation of women approaching retirement age. Amendments address gender and age discrimination and stereotypes affecting older women's employment, the gender pay and pension gap, the unequal division of paid work and unpaid family care, the risk of poverty for widows and isolated elderly women, the European Year of Active Ageing, equal actuarial calculation of pensions, ending compulsory retirement, the open method of coordination, and the European Institute for Gender Equality.
