## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report constituting the annual tax report. The amendments address double taxation in the single market, tax obstacles for cross-border citizens and businesses, the VAT compliance gap, the tax burden weighted on labour rather than consumption, administrative costs for medium-sized companies, the rise in public debt during the financial crisis, and effective taxation as a tool for wealth distribution and fighting fiscal fraud.
