## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns public finances in EMU – 2011 and 2012. Amendments revise recitals and points on the lingering economic, financial and banking crisis and its effect on socio-economic development and political stability, the government debt-to-GDP ratio in the Eurozone, sovereign-debt spreads and financing costs, budgetary consolidation and growth-friendly austerity, the fiscal multiplier, country-specific recommendations and the European Semester, and the need for public scrutiny of economic decision-making.
