# Application of the principle of equal pay for male and female workers for equal work or work of equal value

## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns application of the principle of equal pay for male and female workers for equal work or work of equal value. Amendments deplore the Commission's failure to act on earlier Parliament resolutions, attribute the gender pay gap to stereotypes and traditional roles, link lower pay to smaller pensions and poverty among older women, call for comparable gender-specific statistics, flexicurity and work-life balance, and reference the Europe 2020 targets.
