## What the amendments focus on

A regulation on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market. The amendments adjust the legal effect of electronic and qualified electronic signatures versus handwritten signatures, address qualified certificates, signature creation devices and their certification, security levels, validation and lists, and let the Commission set reference numbers of standards via implementing acts with stakeholder input, while revising recitals on building cross-border trust online.
