## What the amendments focus on

This legislative proposal provides a temporary derogation from the EU Emissions Trading System Directive for aviation. Some amendments reject the proposal, while others defer enforcement of allowance-trading requirements for flights to and from aerodromes outside the Union pending an ICAO global market-based measure, address free allocations and the cancellation of allowances, and direct auctioning revenues towards reducing greenhouse-gas emissions and international climate finance.
