## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on improving access to finance for SMEs. The amendments revise recitals on SMEs' role in employment and the EU economy, the impact of the financial and economic crisis and stricter regulation, bank lending and credit conditions across Member States, the Small Business Act and the 'Think Small First' principle, and the role of banks, the ECB and the social economy.
