## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report addresses current challenges and opportunities for renewable energy on the European internal energy market. The amendments call for an ambitious, forward-looking approach to renewables, funding for research and development, an industrial strategy and joint industrial policy, attention to job creation and dependence on imported fossil energy, national support schemes, and concerns over trade defence measures and unfair trade practices.
