## What the amendments focus on

This dossier simplifies the requirements for presenting certain public documents in the EU. The amendments define the scope of public documents such as extracts on birth, death, name, marriage and registered partnership, exempt them from legalisation, establish Union multilingual standard forms, set acceptance of certified copies and translations, and provide safeguards against fraud and forgery including requests for information between authorities' relevant authorities.
