## What the amendments focus on

Draft regulation amending the rules on shipments of waste and the legality of such shipments. The amendments address planning of waste shipment inspections by competent authorities, the definition of 'suspected illegal shipment' and risk assessment, evidence to be required from waste exporters, inspections of collection, storage and sorting facilities, a Commission database on illegal shipments, electronic data interchange, harmonisation of penalties, whistleblowing, and public availability of inspection plans and results.
