## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative legislative dossier concerns combating violence against women. Amendments invoke Treaty provisions and call for EU accession to and Member State ratification of the Council of Europe Istanbul Convention, identifying violence against women as serious crime, and address prevention, protection of and assistance to victims, prosecution of perpetrators, data collection and awareness-raising.
