## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on the role of property rights, property ownership and wealth creation in eradicating poverty and fostering sustainable development in developing countries. The amendments revise recitals on land tenure and property rights, including customary and indigenous tenure, unregistered land in Africa, slum dwellers and the Millennium Development Goals, women's limited land ownership, and large-scale land acquisitions and land-grabbing, recognising registered land rights as a catalyst for growth.
