# Parliament's rights in the appointment procedure of future Executive Directors of the European Environment Agency - amendment of Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No 401/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Environment Agency and the European Environment Information and Observation Network

European Parliament procedure 2013/2089(INI) (INI - Own-initiative procedure, 7th term, committee ENVI). Stage: Procedure completed. 4 committee amendments tabled by 2 Members between 2013-07-03 and 2013-07-03.

## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report concerns Parliament's rights in the procedure for appointing future Executive Directors of the European Environment Agency, amending Article 9 of the founding regulation. The amendments add citations to the 2012 Joint Statement and Common Approach on EU decentralised agencies, restate that the Executive Director is appointed by the Management Board from a Commission list for a renewable term, and require a written roadmap before a committee hearing.
